This is a selection of new work inspired by memories of nature or places, or by reflections on the amazing sense of order that lies beneath our world. I'm interested in creating a world rather than illustrating it, and sometimes I start purely from the paint and let it take me somewhere unexpected. This usually means making a lot of changes until the structures and colours feel right.

My painting approach involves moving colour and shapes around, following the clues the brushstrokes and colours suggest, until an imaginary place is revealed. I also like to think of the work as a poem in paint.
