This was inspired by memories of my grandparents' house at Daymer Bay, Cornwall. You could walk out of the garden onto sand dunes and golden sand, and the sea was not far down the beach. As I worked, the central area gradually referred to the house surrounded by, as it used to be, high trees. There's a small island in the distance, the jade green shape at the top central area. I miss the house and area so much. The house now belongs to a famous chef.
