These paintings are a series of works painted in Cyprus, in August, or from memories and ideas on my return to the UK. The most recent paintings are the first in this gallery, and they lead on to the paintings made in Cyprus. I have not painted 'in situ,' I painted directly onto paper from my internal images which are a layering of emotion, colour and memories of many walks around Paphos. Shapes and colours shift in focus and call for experimentation with composition and brushstrokes to echo my visual memories.

These paintings are on watercolour paper, medium to rough texture, (140lbs). It is thick enough to work intensely on.

As I am having an exhibition in Paphos in January 2015, I am continuing this series as part of the work I will display.
