Fiona Stanbury's Paintings

At night in the heat of the summer, people gather in the square seeking elusive cool breezes. I made watercolours there, sitting outside a sandwich shop, and this painting was one of a series developed from them. I was especially interested in the way the lamps coloured the trees, and the strange colours and shadows on the figures and scene below.
