A Clearing in the Forest

I often rework older paintings and this sat for over a year before I decided to make some major changes. I kept to the original idea of finding a clearing in a forest, a place of safety and pause, and took my idea of working with brush strokes of colour further as compositional elements.I see this painting as an image that I'd like to work on a larger scale.
