Figure Paintings and 'Turkish Baths' series
From Darkness into The Light
This large painting is about the return to normality from Covid-19. Figures are emerging into bright light and colour from darkness and starting to follow their dreams. Figures are meeting and hugging again. There's a figure carrying an Olympic torch as a symbol of the resilience and courage of humanity. I have painted this for a particular project - more later!
I worked with stains of colour and some of the forms are partially realized to reflect growth and change. The painting evolved organically though I had an idea that I wanted the left side to be dark and I wanted to paint some large plants to represent growth towards light.
