Ideas that inspire my work can come from different sources and memories. In this case I remembered a recent take-off from Larnaca airport one night when all I could see was a section of waves between the thick clouds and how on that trip I never had the chance to go to the coast (due to family illness). I painted this as an optimistic painting of the coast and with the sun represented as a fan. There is also a certain flowering of shapes which relate to my ideas of the transient passage of life (a recurring theme).
