River of Life

This year I have been thinking a lot about life and life transitions, probably because of my mother's death some months ago. The bands of colour in this painting represent, for me, life stages and experiences, and included in my calligraphy are a figure, abstracted boats, waves, mountains and a 'beyond.' I am currently considering whether or not to work on this further. It is my last painting on canvas of 2018.
