This was worked from some of my ink painting ideas. It is about paint as a metaphor for mountains I lived under and walked up in China.
Every evening I sat outside on the roof terrace and the mountains looked down on me. The Great Wall was strung along the ragged peaks like a necklace and I watched the sky darken and the colours change. I wanted to put some of this magic into this painting.
