While we were on our bus trip, we were taken to a Museum which consisted of houses in the traditional style, from a few hundred years ago. Everything was set out exactly how it would have been back then. I was amazed at how beautifully intricate the carvings inside and outside the basic houses were, and also how heavy the cooking pots that the women had to lift were! There were mountains of logs everywhere, in preparation for very hard winters. The walk through this museum-village was quite long and took us past fields of sunflowers and gardens full of Dahlias (predominantly oranges, reds, lemons and purples), roses, and apple trees. There were no fences between the gardens and houses were painted different colours: greens, yellows, lilacs, purples, pale orange.
