Oil and acrylic on board
91 x 61cm
I worked on this for a long time. I wanted to evoke the memory of walks around the lighthouse, with blinding sunshine glinting off rocks, thorny grasses catching at your bare legs, hills and glimpses of the sea. Rather than present a topographical view of the coastal walk, I have chosen to present it from different angles, as if the view is in motion. I have broken up the lighthouse because it disappears from view at certain points on that coastal walk, then re-emerges.
